CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas (Austin Business Journal) -- The Caldwell County Commissioners Court unanimously approved March 28 a development agreement between the county and a subsidiary of Lennar Corp. for a neighborhood of up to 1,600 homes in the rural area south of Austin. Is Elon Musk planning town east of Austin? The answer’s complicated The development agreement will allow Lennar — one of the region's busiest homebuilders — to transform the 491-acre parcel into a large community of single-family homes, plus parkland and amenities, according to county documents. Cotton Gateway, as the development is currently known, would be a significant injection of new homes in Caldwell County, part of the region stretching between Austin and San Antonio that some experts believe will evolve into the state’s next metroplex. The development will rise across the road from the San Marcos Regional Airport at State Highway 21 and William Pettus Road.Read the full story at Austin Business Journal.Mohonk Preserve to host 50-mile challenge fundraiser

It’s time to put hospital fees in check“Lawmakers narrow bill to limit hospital facility fees,” March 22 news storyMy husband and I have owned our small business in Denver for 22 years. Over the years, our business has endured many challenges that have tested our resiliency.I am extremely disheartened over the state of the health-care industry in Colorado. Policymakers are discussing valid and comprehensive legislation that will rein in rampant hospital fees and cap costs. These policy solutions will make health care more affordable for Coloradans and for employees at small businesses like mine.Hospital consolidations have gotten entirely out of hand in Colorado, costing Coloradans thousands of dollars and monopolizing the health-care industry with no concern for the impact on people. Many Coloradans still cannot afford health insurance. If they have insurance, meeting ever-increasing deductibles, copays and surprise fees is challenging.Legislators have solutions o...The Future Potential of Web3 Industry: Insights from BitGet

The potential of Bitcoin in the future really depends on the market, because right now the market is warming back up. We can say that Bitcoin has already broken the 24-hour crisis but is dropping down to start back. Let's see if Bitcoin goes up and breaks at 27k. If it does, the market will be strong because Bitcoin is going up to new resistance, which should be around 30k. So, this is what I'm expecting. For the Bull market, I have to say we need to be patient because people are not prepared for investing, especially after the last two and a half years. In 2021 and 2022, the inflation rate in the UK was at a 20-year high. That means people prefer to use their money to hold onto their assets, so the trading value has been reduced. That means the market could be cold. So, what we need to do is wait for the market to get into the buy zone for the whole market to get back. If the macro trends still do not call the market, no matter how much effort we put into it, the market is nothing. ...Mudslide closes Studio City street amid latest storm

Predictmedix Inc. may have the answer to squash concerns about stoned driving. The lack of a validated mechanism to test someone’s level of impairment from cannabis use on the spot has complicated the national rollout. Regulators and elected officials vent their fears about stoned driving all the time. You can test someone’s saliva, urine, blood or hair, but these detection methodologies are too dated for the modern era. Mostly because they aren’t focused on the moment but whether you’ve used drugs over a more extended time frame that goes long after the impairment has stopped. If you were to base impairment on those tests, you would have a ton of false positives since more of the workforce are enjoying off-the-clock use and have those spent THC metabolites in their system. The same people who don’t want to change drug testing laws to protect off-the-clock use are ironically well-versed in the reality of current testing not truly benefiting public safety in real time. But...Latest news
