PUEBLO, Colo. (KDVR) — If you plan to go fishing anytime soon, Colorado wildlife officials are asking you to keep an eye on your catch. “Last fall we had an angler contact us about a fish that had unusual granular stuff in its fillets,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife aquatic biologist Carrie Tucker said. According to Tucker, the fish was suffering from “sandy flesh disease.” It was taken from Lake Pueblo. This is the first time a case has been documented in Colorado. Don’t eat the fish in these Colorado water bodies “It is a little bit of a surprise, especially since we don’t know what causes this disease but at the same time with people being very mobile and moving all over the country and fishing other states and coming back it’s not a surprise that it eventually made its way here,” Tucker said. DENVER (KDVR) — Even with a value of $1.37 billion, a $40-$50 million rights fee hit will take a toll on the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are part of AT&T SportsNet, and as of early this year, the broadcaster announced its intention to get out of the regional sports network business."It's a big chunk of their revenue," said Kurt Badenhausen, Sportico’s sports valuations reporter. Happy Friday, South Florida!Hopefully everyone had a nice week. And what a week it was! South Florida got to enjoy beautiful blues skies, breezy East winds and low rain chances all week. And today was no different. We ended the week with possibly the nicest day as we saw fewer clouds and sunny skies all day long. This evening is looking rather quiet as well so it’s a green light for any outdoor plans you might have tonight! While a passing shower or two can’t be ruled out overnight tonight, rain chances should still remain low until later in the weekend. While we are on topic, let’s talk about this weekend as there will be some changes already underway. As it stands, Saturday seems to be the better of the two weekend days as only isolated showers will remain in the forecast. Local authorities and members of the Fall River Historical Society are working to learn more as questions surround a more than century-old bed that Lizzie Borden may have slept in while on trial in the 1892 Fall River ax murders of her father and stepmother. The bed has spent years in storage at the Ash Street Jail in New Bedford. It doesn’t have a manufacture date or serial number. But it does have a clue for historians, according to Jonathan Darling of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office. “There’s this very unusual marking on the side that looks kind of like a face, or maybe a backward state of Massachusetts,” Darling said. Darling said there is a theory that the manufacturer could have used the marking as a trademark in place of their company name. The Bristol County Sheriff’s Office discussed the mystery in a message on social media earlier this week after officials said they hosted personnel from the Fall River Historical Society to see the bed.&...Latest news
